Details for production teams
Stunt system questions, answered.
Answers about modular layouts, setup, inflation, storage, colors, and the scope of the published testing information.
How does the inflatable landing system work?
Individual bags connect to create a selected footprint. Each bag is inflated with a handheld blower and capped before the system is positioned. Built-in pressure-release valves are designed to release air on impact. Follow the product instructions and the production’s approved stunt plan.
Does the system need a continuously running blower?
No. Once inflated, the bags are designed to remain inflated without a continuously running blower. Use the handheld blower during setup and follow the product instructions for checks and reset.
Can the bag layout be configured for a production?
Yes. The modular connection system can be arranged into the listed footprints: 8′ × 15′ × 3′, 10′ × 15′ × 3′, 16′ × 15′ × 3′, and 20′ × 15′ × 3′. The wider layouts connect two base systems side by side. See the system footprint comparison or contact the Davis Stunt Systems team to discuss a proposed layout.
What color options are available?
Options shown on this site are orange, chroma-key green, Production Blue, black, dark gray, and red. For shots involving chroma key, coordinate the color with the production’s VFX team and wardrobe plan. See the color gallery.
What testing and safety documentation is available?
Based on our testing, we consider the tested bag configurations aligned with applicable criteria in OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502(c), the construction safety-net systems provision. The standard addresses drop testing in paragraph (c)(4). This does not establish a stunt-specific performer-weight or fall-height rating, stunt-use certification, or OSHA approval of the product. Contact us for product-specific test documentation, and have qualified production stunt and safety professionals assess each planned use.
How are the bags stored and transported?
The bags can be deflated and folded into rolling storage cases. Follow the product manual for inspection, folding, storage, and return to service.
Can our crew get setup guidance?
Yes. Ask the Davis Stunt Systems team about available training materials and setup, inspection, and maintenance guidance for your proposed system.
How can a rental company review the system?
